In June, 2024 I went to the emerge with swollen legs that I couldn’t walk on. I was in bed nearly two months, 23 hours a day max. I only got up to pee or let the dogs out or maybe to eat.
Related to my medication-induced diabetes that I was diagnosed with in 2014 thanks to a variety of medications I was on that affected my endocrine system that gave me a nice set of diabetes. It is under veterans affairs, an approved condition consequential to one of my injuries.
I’ve been diabetic at least 11 years now.
Since June, I had to have that prescription re-written 4 or 5 times, to the approval of Blue Cross.
And I still get denied.
Why? Because apparently Diabetic Compression Socks, are not a standard treatement for diabetes.
I would like to thank the insurance company and unfortunately, VAC who makes us go through them… who don’t believe that I deserve as a veteran with diabetes that has been proven to be related to the medications I took for my injuries, deserves a pair of diabetic compression socks to stop blood clots from forming and killing me.
My granny passed at the age of 48 from issues surrounding blood clots as she died from a massive stroke/heart-attack on the operating table.
My sister died at the age of 47/48 from a stroke.
My dad had his first stroke at age 48, his first heart attack a few years earlier.
Thank you Blue Cross and unfortunately, VAC — who have decided my life isn’t worth the cost of $120 for a pair of socks that could save my life.
Thank you for pushing me to an early death — I want MAiD, to have the CHOICE. I have been pushed into this pain for 15 years. I have suffered medical malpractice from over 20-some military doctors, especially the two who run/ran the clinic in North Bay. You have ensured my death sentence. You have essentially, killed me.
Thank you.
